I am still trying to teach my son part of the list. I realized that parenthood, which is the same as student-hood and saint-hood is a lifelong process.
- Personality goes a long way.
- Walk on the outside (closer to the street) of your female companion.
- Cooking, cleaning, laundry and taking care of kids are things men can actually do as well as women.
- Women like compliments and gifts. It helps in ANY relationship.
- Earning less than her shouldn’t be emasculating.
- Keep backup supplies of quality chocolate [or stuff she likes] in the house when she’s feeling down.
- Be on time, even if she usually isn’t.
- Your legs really don’t need to be open that wide.
- Smiling and nodding aren’t the same as listening.
- It’s OK to cry in front of her, but keep the blubbering to a minimum.
- Pick your battles in life.
- At some point she’ll be more important than your mother. [and at some point, this is what I have to accept myself]
- You will never completely understand women. Men and women are different. Its not a big deal. That’s just how it is.
- Just because you can’t FIND the item in question doesn’t mean she moved it.
- Respect people. And ALL women are people too.
