My father told me that you can never have office mates as friends. I learned the truth to that statement when I started working. Yes, they will always be office mates – but friends? Real life friends? Not when you work together in the same company. Not until you learn never to burn bridges unless you don’t plan on turning back. To every rule, there’s an exception and I’ve been fortunate enough to have met people that I can call friends even outside the office. Our life and circles became bigger and we have given each other support through the years. In this case, more than a decade.

I worked with DJ and Cris back in 2001. Just as their relationship developed from mere officemates to become pillars of each other’s life, they also anchor my sanity from time to time.

DJ is that burst of sunshine that floods the room when things seem bleak. He sees the possibility in everything and everyone. Cris on the other hand is the voice of reason and sometimes plays devil’s advocate. Not to pull you down, but to make sure that you’ve got your bases covered in making your dreams come true.

My friend just messaged me on facebook to tell me that they were able to frame the portrait. :) Yes, it looks gorgeous.
