This is the first time I’ve done something like this. According Tony Perez, it is a form of crosshatching. I love it because, it is more fluid and expressive. I feel like I am not constrained by lines and technically, it does feel like doodling.

This was the hardest. She was wearing sunglasses, not eyeglasses. I had to establish tonal value using lines... with the illusion of transparency.

These works will be a part of an Exhibition on Fountain Pen Day, November 5 and 6 at SM Aura Premier in Bonifacio Global City near Toby’s Estate on the 3rd floor.

For these works I used the following:

Pen: Pilot Justus 95, Tachikawa School G for the really thin lines.
Paper: Aquarello 300gsm, A3
Ink: Noodler’s Heart of Darkness

I was advised to use J. Herbin’s Perle Noire next time. It may not be waterproof and bulletproof like Noodler’s Heart of Darkness, but it is lightfast.
